Debating whether global warming is a threat or just media hype

a place to live! Everywhere in the hinterland are vast hectares of grape vines and olive and almond plantations. As far as the eye can see are fields of wheat and barley and of yellow flowering canola from which we make margarine. What you can't see is that these crops are absorbing huge amounts of invisible and harmless CO2 gas from the atmosphere! They are like a sponge to water! On a calm day ground level air becomes quite depleted in CO2.

Crops love CO2! The more the better. The tiny amount of CO2 present in the atmosphere today (385 ppm) restricts their ability to achieve high yields and growth rates. Hot house operators try and keep the plant growing atmosphere up to 1000 ppm, which is often the level found in a normal enclosed house or office where pot plants are grown.

Carbon is the most wonderful element in the periodic table. It forms more compounds than all the other element put together. It is the life blood of the biosphere. Plants and trees absorb CO2 and by photosynthesis convert this carbon into sugars and cellulose. In the process, oxygen is liberated into the atmosphere which we humans and other animals breath to stay alive. All life forms are composed of carbon compounds! No CO2 means no life on Earth!

Yet, we have the EPA (US) and Kyoto supporters declaring that atmospheric CO2 is dangerous to humans and should be monitored, reduced, and emissions taxed! The Greens promote the idea of reducing your carbon footprint. How stupid can you get! Their bizarre religious ideology is no more inspiring than that of the Incas in the high Andes who in the past sacrificed young virgins on the tops of volcanoes in hope of appeasing the rain God to break the drought!

The fallacies of the global warming belief system are well explained in the recently published book "Heaven and Earth" by Ian Plimer, who is Professor of Mining Geology at Adelaide University, South Australia.

Happy reading.
