Memoirs: Workplace horror stories

Everyday people in the workplace are either habitually crossing the line with coworkers. Everyday there is someone who is unsatisfied with their workplace
environment and does not know what to do about it. I myself had a volatile workplace experience in which my boss was verbally abusive and in his daily fits of rage would throw whatever item was handy in my direction (I was the new girl).

Finally one day I had tolerated enough of his childish and disrespectful behavior so I reported his actions to his supervisor. In a company worth working for this would have resulted in disciplinary action against my boss in the form of a warning or suspension... but of course that is not what happened in my case.

So yet again I went back to working with this intolerant, impatient, and rude man I was suppose to consider my boss. Strike two came about a week later when he decided that he wanted to belittle me and yell in my face in front of every customer in the pharmacy. This time instead of contacting his boss I contacted the boss of his boss.... slap on the wrist in the form of a "stern talking to" from the higher ups.

Back to my daily grind working for this heinously self indulgent brat... until the final straw about two weeks later when he decided it wasnt enough to yell at me, belittle me in front of customers, or invade my personal space. This is when he decided to throw a basket filled with medication bottles into my workstation.

I know you could possibly be wondering what I had to be doing to anger him to
this point.... NOTHING. I worked in a pharmacy (very well I might add) that put out over 500 prescriptions per day without them providing me with one lick of training and also with incorrect pay for 6 months, a shorthanded staff, and an angry smurf for a boss without so much as one minute for a break without being called back because of others incompetence.

The Day of the Basket as I call it was my final straw. Its not even in my nature to have dealt with what I did for so long without saying so much as one curse word. Until the Day of the Basket, I gave my boss to the count of ten to quit his whining tantrum he was throwing in the employee bathroom (next to the pharmacy registers) and come and clear the 20 + prescriptions waiting for his approval. At ten I went to the bathroom door and SCREAMED at the top of my lungs WAITER SCRIPT UP! and proceeded to finish my work when my boss came out of the bathroom and called me everything he could think of before he decided it would be better said with a basket flying my way.

I kindly and politely packed my things, called a cab, kissed my coworkers goodbye, and walked out of the front door as I informed my boss he should call me when he grows up. I received a weeks suspension for shift abandonment, a write up, and also a threat of investigation for the meds that were "disappearing" long before I came to work there. My boss received no kind of reprimand, discipline, or action toward his behavior.
