Following Beyonce on Twitter may give you a different look into the life of the celebrity that you cannot get from the news. For anyone that doesn't already know about Twitter is a great resource as celebrities, or a personal assistant or someone else that speaks on their behalf, will often log in throughout the day and post updates from the Twitter web page or through short posts from their cell phone. You can add Twitter as a contact on your cell phone and log in and post updates to your profile on Twitter letting your fans know what is going on in real time.
I myself am following Beyonce on Twitter. Now there are various Beyonce profiles on Twitter from a bit of research it would seem as though the profile to follow is beyoncegisele. If you just follow the beyonce profile you won't get anywhere fast. It would seem as though all of Destiny's Child is on Twitter, so you can also follow updates about everyone in the group. Beyonce says she doesn't use Twitter much, but there are 911 followers and she is following 56 people herself, including Miley Cyrus and Marques Houston and even some rappers like 50 Cent and Young Jeezy.
When you follow someone on Twitter, you get a broader sense of their interests and what makes them tick as an artist as opposed to what you would get just reading the news or various celebrity gossip blogs. Often it comes from the source, in the case of Ashton Kutcher, or at least through their camp, as opposed to someone's warped opinion of them. Upon visiting Beyonce's profile I was surprised to find that she replies to a lot of people but hasn't been sending tweets out into the "Twittersphere" as much as other celebrities are.
So I was able to find out about the new Rhianna song and Beyonce stating her intentions to take two years off through Twitter. This was back on the 12th, and I remember actually hearing about Beyonce taking two years off in the mainstream media since then. Theoretically a writer could comb Twitter and get a lot of great ideas from there, but that is for another article stating the merits of being on Twitter in general. You could probably interview Beyonce through Twitter if you had a good working relationship with her on the run texting back and forth on the phone; Twitter is a great resource and a beautiful means by which to stay connected to your favorite celebrities. I'm not sure what I would have done without, but I am certainly glad that I found Twitter when I did.
