Graduation is one of the most exciting times of your life. It is also a very scary time. Life is waiting for you and soon you will be in the "real" world, as many like to put it. You will probably receive a lot of advice from a lot of different people on how to handle your life situations. The best advice is that anyone could give you is to take the advice of those that have preceded you in the game of life.
Here are some of the best pieces of advice that a person could give you:
Follow Your Dreams
Following your dreams is the most important ingredient in life. This is what will make you happy. If you find that your dream isn't what you thought it would be, always know that you can change paths. You don't have to be afraid of changing your mind. You will find many passions in life. You can always follow more than one dream to see where it leads. The worst part about getting older is realizing that you didn't realize your dreams.
Follow Your Heart
It is rare that the heart is wrong. Follow what your heart tells you to do. Your head comes in handy every now and then too. As long as it doesn't put you in danger, following your heart will give you great satisfaction in life.
Be Careful Of Your Choices
Choose wisely. If you know that something can ruin your life, chances are that it will. Do the right thing. There will be hard choices that you have to make along the way. Making the right ones will save you from hurt and from hurting others. Every choice we make as human beings affects others. It is up to you as to whether it affects the positively or negatively. If you know that it is wrong, don't do it. It could be the one thing that stops you from realizing your dreams.
Do It While You Are Young
Go to college now. Don't take time off to "find yourself". Putting things off for the future often ends up in the "I never did do that" pile. These are the things regrets are made of. It isn't necessarily college that we are talking about here. If there are things that you want to do in life, take the time to do it now. You may never get the chance to again.
Life happens to us all. We find ourselves in marriages and having children before we know it. One day you look back and realize that you never accomplished some of the things that were most important to you when you were younger. Don't regret anything!
Hold Yourself to High Standards
