Most children and adults alike dream of visiting the Disney amusement parks and meeting all the unique characters. Well, one of the Disney character that most don't really think of is the Disney "Tree of Lfe". However, just as Mickey or Cinderalla are characters belonging to the great Disney dynasty so is the "Tree of Life". One of the most memorable Disney movies that features the "Tree of Life" is the 'the Lion King'

The Disney 'Tree of Life' is an astounding feat of creativity and skill. Its a beautiful and majestic sight to behold. This Disney icon opened on Aril 22, 1998 and stands at the center of Disney's Animial Kingdom. The 'Tree of Life' celebrates the creatures of the earth an their place in it. The tree was made from a refited oil platform. The tree itself is fourteen stories tall. The branches on the "Tree of Life" span one hundred and sixty-five feet across. There are over a hundred thousand leaves on the tree. The leaves are made from a pvdf resin called kynar.

Carved into the fifty eight foot wide trunk of the tree are three hundred and twenty-five animals. The carvings were created by twenty different artists. There is also a carving of Mickey Mouse hidden in the tree. Different animals can be seen in the tree as the lighting changes throughout the day. At the base of the tree is the "Its Tough To Be A Bug' theater. At the entrance of the theater there are chimps carved into the entrance of the tree that were inspired by Ms.Jane Goodall. It seats four hundred and thirty people and is the home to Flik and Hopper. The roots of the tree find their way to the different paths surrounding 'the Tree of Life'. These paths lead to quiet meadows and springs. There are many types of animals in the meadows such as red kangaroos, flamingoes, otters, cranes, tortoises, and lemurs..

The 'Tree of Life' is a spectacular sight to see. It is a massive structure that took many people and several man hours to create. It should not be just seen as a Disney tourist attraction, but also as a work of art. The tree reminds us all how wonderful life is on earth. The "Tree of Life" reflects on the importance of all species of animals. Our animals should be treasured, Animals are a very important part of the environment. All earth's animals are a part of the great circle of life. Like all Disney characters "The Tree of Life" is a unique masterpiece.
