If you don't come to see me tonight, I promise I will end my own life. You have until midnight A female voice message from a withheld phone number was recorded to Corey's cell phone. The call was taken earlier when Corey, a nineteen year-old student of Cosmetology College, failed to answer the call during his class session.
After listening to the message, he realized he only had one and half hour to find out the identity and to save a life of a perfect stranger. He wasn't quite up to the mood of saving anyone's life after a long busy day; but he didn't want to spend the rest of his life regretting for not saving her life. He painfully and unwillingly had to call the phone company to report the weird emergency situation. The next day he got a phone call from the police to inform him the suicidal girl was safe and she agreed to seek professional help.
A week later, Corey received a text message from the suicidal girl.
Hey, I am sorry to invade your privacy again. I just want to say 'thank you' and I apologize for the trouble I had caused you last week. It would be nice if you could reply to this message. Thanks again. By the way, my name is Ami. Corey couldn't wait to return her message. Instead of texting her back, he called,
I am glad I could help but don't try to pull this kind of stunt again to anybody and I don't work for twenty-four hour suicide hotline. Please check the phone number twice before you call or text! Please erase my number and don't call me again! You have caused me enough trouble and it costs me my relationship. Did I make myself clear enough for you?
I am really sorry. Is there anything I can do to help or to compensate your loss?
Yes, you can hang up the phone right now because I am done talking to you.
Corey, I made an accidental mistake and it cost you your relationship but I didn't do it in purpose. That was an honest mistake. Please forgive me
How do you know my name?
The police told me
Goodbye Ami! I hope I won't be hearing from you again and please have a nice life
Corey, at least let me invite you to dinner once?
And if I don't accept your demand, you will end your life?
Please pick a place so we can meet.
Fine. Just one time?
Yes, just once
