Considering we are all human, is there really a need for women to eat any differently to men? Yes there is! Although we are all human, a woman's nutritional requirements are much more specific than a man's, thus they differ. Women have menstrual cycles, endure pregnancies, lactate and so much more. Women have body requirements that focus on nutritional needs in lieu of keeping them energized as well as mentally alert. Physical exhaustion often occurs when a woman bears children, wakes frequently to breastfeed and changes diapers, caters to children, cleans house, tends to a husband and runs children to school and so forth. Their nutritional needs are very important for good health and well being. In actual fact, nutrition experts will agree that good health before, during and after childbirth, has much bearing on a new mother's stress levels.



The older woman needs her nutrients just as much as the younger woman. From age 40 on body changes can put a lot of strain on a woman's health. To help avoid ailments such as osteoporosis a woman needs to ensure that she has an adequate amount of nutrients within her body. Menopause is a crucial time in a middle aged woman's life in reference to her health. The hormones can play such havoc with a woman's health, stress levels, sleep, happiness, self esteem and so much more. So follow the guide below which lists the top ten nutrients for good health and well being. Fuel your body the right way!

1) Water:

Water may not be deemed a food, yet it's vitally important for metabolic processing. It aids digestion, hydrates the skin, helps with weight loss and aids in flushing the bladder and the entire system. Drink 8-10, eight ounce glasses per day, eating fruit with high water content is a good idea as well. Strawberries, melons, oranges. Add a squeeze of lemon juice or barley if you find water too bland. Drink iced lemon tea if you shudder at the thought of water.

2) Soy Protein:

Soy protein is found in products such as soymilk, soy nut butter, cereal and tofu. Soy aids in lowering bad cholesterol levels and is deemed as heart healthy by medical experts and nutrition experts. 25 grams of soy protein a day is highly recommended.
Soy products can be used in a wide assortment of foods such as; salads, sauces and sandwich spreads. Soynut butter is ideal for stir fries and curries.
