10 Great Ways To Lift Your Spirits

Lifting your spirits is normal and natural, and something that we, as humans need to do as often as we can, because we are a very hard-working and serious culture with many health concerns due to the fact that we don't do enough to relax and lift our spirits.

It is normal for each of us to be affected every day by any, one of life's stresses, which is why we should be aware of many different ways to get our spirits out of the doldrums. This friendly advice is geared towards everyone, whether you're a naturally 'positive' person, or someone who always feels like 'the glass is half empty.'

The most beneficial act that we can do for ourselves each day is to lift our spirits! Life should be celebrated - not only the holidays, or our birthdays, but as many days, in as many ways as we can possibly think of!


Here are 10 Great Ways To Lift Your Spirits:

Fresh Flowers:
A bunch of fresh flowers is pretty to look at, and reminds us of happy things such as Spring!

Read or Write:
Escape into a good book, it helps to relieve the tension built up from the stress of the day's reality, or write something, because as you write, you can't help but leave your cares behind.

Dance or sport:
Put on your favorite music and dance around the house as this will launch you into a fantasy, forgetting all our cares, or if a sport is more your style, indulge in your sport!

Pet:
If you don't have a cat or a dog, get one! Pets love us unconditionally, and as we give them attention, our spirits are lifted beyond heights we could ever imagine.

Art:
Indulge in whatever form of art that strikes your fancy, because you are guaranteed to lose yourself in your expression.

A Date - Day or Night:
Make a date with your spouse, or a friend. Go out, and have fun! Something to look forward to (anticipation), and something to enjoy!

Bubble Bath:
Take a bubble bath, light candles, listen to music. Relax.

Vacation:
Just planning a vacation, whether it's local or across the globe is certain to lift your spirits; then the 'lift that keeps on giving,' will give once again when you go on the vacation!

Shopping:
Buy something fun, (yet reasonable) that you don't need, but WANT!

Give:
Give to someone else (this is one of my favorites) The thought, the plan, the actual 'act' of whatever you give, will absolutely lift your spirits, because you know that you have lifted someone else's!

No matter which 'great way' that one chooses to lift their spirits, another fact that is extremely important is your attitude. I guarantee that if your attitude is positive towards lifting your spirit, that you will, in fact lift your spirits; however, if your attitude is one of 'stinkin thinkin' and negativity, then NOTHING will help you fly high! Put a smile on your face, no matter what mood you're in, indulge in one of these suggestions, and you WILL absolutely and positively lift your spirits!
