Saving money can be very difficult when tough economic times hit. Now is such a time and everyone needs to stretch every dollar that they can. There are ways to save money through something as simple as recycling. This isn't only good for your bank account, it is good for the environment as well. If everyone looked at how much money they could save this way, the world would be in much better shape.

Here are a few ways in which you can save money by recycling:

Yard Sales

Having a yard sale or going to one means that you are recycling. Anything that you buy or sell that is pre-owned qualifies. If you are selling, you can put the money that you take from the sales and put it into your bank account. If you buy things from yard sales, you can save a tremendous amount of money instead of buying the items new.

You can find excellent deals at yard sales on items that are pretty close to looking brand new. People often buy items that they only use once or twice, if at all, then they decide they don't want it anymore. This is a great way to stock up on tools, clothing, household items and other things that can cost a fortune if you buy it at the store.

Aluminum

You can get a great deal of money from aluminum that is laying around the home. Buying products that are in these types of containers allows you to get money back on it. You can take the empty cans to a local recycler that will pay you money for them. It doesn't take a lot of time to do it. You can then put the money in the bank. This is like getting a rebate on your purchases. You will be amazed at how much money can be acquired this way.

Painting Your Walls

You can save a great deal of money when you are doing this chore. Recycle old blankets and sheets. You may not think that you will ever have a use for them, but don't throw them away. It beats buying drop cloths and it helps save the environment. The blankets that you use for drop cloths can be used over and over again.

As for paint brushes, keep them nice and clean. If you care for the paint brushes well, these can be used over and over again as well. There is no need to get rid of them when you have finished painting. Keep them stored in a plastic bag for later use. This will keep them from getting dusty and dirty from sitting around the house.

Decorating

Decorating your home can be a very expensive job. You can save a great deal of money from using your imagination and some items
