I'm Taking It
Oh, the unforgotten moonlit dance
to the Victrola's cracked melody.
His come and get me grin.
The times I went and got him.
And that moment I cried, "Yes!"
to the man who wouldn't control me.
The shirt that smells
like an 18 hour work day.
That last kiss on my wrinkled forehead.
The tear that fell from his face
onto this cold white satin.
It's mine forever
and always.

Those Unopposed
innately nimble thumb sans thimble up
with index OK, it'll be a slow day
for Cricket or crochet
but perfect
A Yearning
Even small as a sparrow
would I be,
if I could fly above the world,
soaring free.
No more than a ripple
would I be,
