A tiny sparrow built a nest
High in our old oak tree
The instinct to protect it is
As natural as can be.
He saw his reflection in the glass
our window pane
And pecked at the intruder
crazily in vain.
The eggs were hatched
And the peeps soon grew
The pecking stopped
and away they few.
