Everyday she are hoping the same thing. Overlooking what it is really happening in her life. Everyday thinking things will get better. Waiting for her hubby to come home, hoping today will be different. Today he will be the man of her dreams. Maybe he will bring home flowers. He use to bring home roses every week. So loving and helpful in his own way.
She has made life into a fiction, a beautiful world. A world full of happiness, with a man that knows how to be in a productive relationship. A relationship being more than just a partner, being real friends. Depending on each other through thick and thin. Together against the world. Making the impossible possible. Always doing everything together. Someone to talk too, when she is lonely.
The door opens, it is in the middle of the night. Dinner is cold and he does not want to eat. " Hi sweet heart, how was your day?" she asks. As usual he says nothing and goes to the bed. TV on and does not say a word. She lets him be, he is tired of a hard days work. Is it really work? She does not want to think about it anymore and goes to the kitchen to clean up the dinner left overs. She knows by the time she goes to bed, he will be sound asleep. She has been alone the whole day, waiting on her hubby. No one to talk to, but she loves him and will do all she can to be with him. She will do all she can to live her life in a fiction world. Not facing reality. Reality hurts too much.
Morning comes and he is grumpy as usual, feeling sick and tired of life. He has to go to work again and wife dear has a great life at home doing nothing, or so he thinks. This to clear his own conscience. He knows better, but won't admit it. This gives him a good reason not to come home. It is more fun to go to the Pub. Meeting all his so called friends. After work, drink a beer or two, three, four... To do this he cannot tell himself his wife is loving and caring. No his wife is a bother, a spoiled women who has nothing to do the whole day. Good for him, know he can drink with a clear conscience. He is never the blame.
She is at home still once again, making the house look real nice for when her hubby comes home. Trying to make a difference in his life. She cooks his favorite meal. Today will be different, he will come home and be happy. "He will love me like he used to. We will be so good together. Next month we can go on vacation to a romantic island, laying in the sand. He will express his love to me like he did in the beginning when we just met." She is turning everything into fiction. Where is the reality?
Reality is, her husband is an alcoholic and has trouble dealing with day to day issues. The stress of his work and financial problems have gone beyond his control. He is lost and needs help. But he needs to see this for himself. Everyday he is sick and so tired. But every night he cannot stop drinking. Maybe for a day, he will stop because his money has reached the limit. He is broke. Working hard and spending all the money on his addiction. So sad, he needs help and his wife cannot help him. She wants to. But, the only way for her to survive this relationship is to put it into fiction. Believing the impossible and hoping for the best. She loves him so much, but he is far gone.
