is really being directed to and so focussed upon.

The first step in gaining increased awareness is in attention. When you have placed your attention onto something, this then will lead to interest in that something being developed, and then finally this interest moves on to love. At this stage paradoxically you drop the attention, and so you now feel only the love responding in you as you, but you also know that this love is so great that it can only ever be God that is giving it to you through his loving attention being placed on you.

Love is God's response to you from himself having his attention firmly placed on you at all times. He cannot not have his attention focussed on you because you are a part of himself. God is you and you are God. Attention is not as important as making this connection of love to God. It just takes attention in the beginning stages to start yourself on the path towards love.

God does not call for your attention because he knows that you only look for it when you are not loving him enough.

God simply waits for you to learn and to reach a greater understanding of love, and when you do love naturally responds to you then. The more you love, the more attention you have from God, simply because you are now more aware of more of his love coming to you now. The greater that you love the more you naturally pay attention to God and so he to you.

The simple answer then is to love more and this is the only way that you will ever get God's full attention. The more you love the more fully will his attention seem to be on you now.

What exactly is attention? Why do we want attention from God or from anything else anyway? Should we give our attention to God or to others? Can we give our attention to anything, and is it ever really ours to give?

Love grabs our attention because it attracts us to it. Attention is no more than the response of the love in you to the love that is trying to connect back to you from God. Attention maintains this connection to love. Disconnection or lack of attention takes you away from love, and now into only feeding your own wants.

Attention then is love and being loved. We want God's attention simply because we want to feel his love.

How do we feel God's love?

By paying attention to God, and from what I have said here this is simply by loving God in return for him loving us. Love is the only form of attention. We can get God's attention then by loving him more, and in this we attract more of his attention
