It is possible to live with no regrets. I am one of those people currently living with no regrets. In order to live your live without looking back you need to be content with your life, your choices, and the path that God has set out for you. Your past decisions have shaped you to be who you currently are. Not only that but your current decisions and future decisions will shape you into the person that you will become.
We have all made mistakes in life. We are human, we do things that we look back on and wonder what we were thinking. This is normal, it's natural. God made us imperfect for a reason. We glorify Him when we have regrets because we go to Him for forgiveness. That's the whole point. Have you ever gone back and done something that you regret for a second time? I would imagine that most of us would answer that question with a no. Do you know why? Because we didn't like the person that we became in that moment, why would be want to repeat something that made us feel like less of a person? Instead of repeating our mistakes, we learn from them, we grow from them, we become better people. God blesses the broken road. He leads us astray sometimes in order for us to wake and smell the roses.
Now I know that there are a lot of ways that can make this concept more complicated. I personally haven't done anything in my past that would be considered a serious mistake. If that was the case, I'm sure my view would be the same, but it would take me longer to come to terms with it. No matter what you have done you can always ask for forgiveness. If you mean it, the Lord will forgive you, no matter what. Sin is sin, no matter how serious we consider it. If someone has done something truly horrible in life, it would be much harder to forgive yourself. But that's the key. Forgiving yourself is crucial in letting go of the past. You know that God will forgive you, but you truly aren't believing in His forgiveness unless you are willing to forgive yourself.
All you need to do is believe in God's plan for you and let Him forgive you. Stop dwelling on the past, learn from your mistakes, and make your life better because of it. There is no turning back, only moving forward. God puts you in situations for a reason that you may not understand why until years later. Trust the Lord and trust yourself. Let the past slip away and concentrate on your future.
