Poetry: Carpe Diem (Inspired by the movie- Dead Poets Society)
(This poem was inspired by one of my favorite movies. The names you see and the lines you read are all characters from the film)
Todd Anderson, He was so shy
He tried to fight it, oh how he try
There's plenty of feelings inside of him
Just awaiting to burst out in a scream
Along came Keating into the story
To give shy Todd his moment of glory
With his aid Todd stood forth his peers
And delivered his feelings that were met with cheers
And it was he Todd, the awkward lad
Who stood up for Keating, misjudged as bad
He climbed onto the table tall and proud
To thank his dear sir, clear and loud
"Oh captain my captain", he said in pride
Not an ounce of bashfulness shown outside
And one by one, the others stood
Carpe Diem, they understood
