Do It Yourself Advertising for Small Businesses
In uncertain times, advertising can be a make it or break it part of the budget for any small business. At the same time, this can be true for large corporations as well. We are in these so-called uncertain times when it comes to the economy, so small businesses especially will have to change the way that they do their advertising. One of these changes that can be very beneficial is Do-It-Yourself Advertising. This is unfortunate for all of those great advertising firms and print media outlets that rely on advertising from local businesses but this is what happens in the uncertain times.
One way to Do-It-Yourself Advertise is to Brand yourself and/or your small business. Today, there are many internet based businesses starting up. This means that they have to find a way to advertise their website, themselves and their business product. There are a few ways to do this. First, there is the world of traffic exchanges. A traffic exchange is a program where you can advertise your website in a rotation. Most of these programs are free and you can upgrade for a small one-time fee or a monthly recurring fee. However, you do have to do a little work. You have to surf to view other websites and you have to design a banner and some text impressions. This is challenging, but it is fun all at the same time. You can earn credits and hits for your website by surfing or you can buy credits, normally for a small fee. Believe it or not, there are some programs where you can earn some cash as well. This will certainly assist in helping your small business. What you have to make sure though is not have more than one pop-up on your website. Also make sure that it is not derogatory or adult in nature as most of the traffic exchange programs will not allow for these types of websites.
A small business owner should definitely learn how to become a website designer as well as a desktop graphics designer as well. This means that you as the small owner can certainly learn to design your own website. You can also learn how to design and make your own business cards. For a small business owner, it is certainly a must to have business cards. This is a great idea, even if your business is strictly on-line.
Another great on-line program is what is termed as a PTR Email Program. You can advertise your small business on these programs. You can also earn cash as well at the same time. Open up a G-Mail Account (which is free), as this email program is highly recommended by these programs. By the way, PTR stands for Paid To Read. You can earn credits to add your website to the rotation or again, you can purchase packages that fit your budget.
When it comes to these programs, be certain to do your research. There are on-line programs that will allow you to search the PTR's and the Traffic Exchange Programs that are going to be around for a long time or have already been around for a long time.
The most important part of advertising your small business is to make sure that you Brand yourself and your business. This has been mentioned earlier and it is all over the internet as the way to be successful.
