My First True Love.
Music. Music. Music. Where to begin? Music changes everyone's lives.
There have been times in my life I thought I could not push forward any longer. As for many others who have faced there share of trials, I found a source of strength. Music. It has been there with me through the troublesome times, and through the good times too. I can remember a song from a birthday party or sleepover, a song from a breakup that at that time seemed so tragic, a song from a wedding, a funeral, a dance, a play. Songs, music, make up the memories that flood my mind and capture my spirit. Music is my outlet of all emotion. Rhythm, dance, lyrics, melodies what more could one want?
It is hard to imagine my life without it.
Music can make a hard situation a little bit easier, a dark room a little bit brighter, a tear a little bit easier to fall.
Music changed my life. It allowed me an escape. I could always lock myself in my room and sing my tears into a smile. Stopping to think about the words the melodies, the harmonies. Music was my first love; it holds my hand when I need it most and lifts my head when I am down. Music will never leave me.
How many times have you listened to a song from your past and smiled? Laughed? Cried? I could not count those times. I love trying to remember all the words to my favorite songs from the past.
It's always fun to find a CD in the bottom of a box in the closet. Pushing play with such anticipation, that feeling you got on your first day of school each year. The moment you recognize the song and begin to sing along is like no other feeling in the world. Crazy? Maybe. But music means a lot to me. It has helped me learn to walk again after a car accident. It has helped me find my true love, my husband. It has encouraged me to never give up and always listen in. Music is Love. And love therefore music.
Can you imagine a world without music? And we thought times were hard know. Music moves our soul, encapsulates life in four minutes of perfect harmony. The perfect day would consist of a gallon of ice cream and billowing tower of CDs, a pillow and a blanket. I could lay there and listen for hours on end. Couldn't you?
How has music affected your life? Think about that for a moment and smile. You know you want to. So feel free to relax, unwind and pull out one of those old CDS, or cassettes, and begin your journey into the past. One track at a time.
