The next time you are invited to, or host, a St Patrick's Day party or event, try to contribute something a little away from the norm of green domestic beer or traditional Irish beers. You can get creative and add a twist to the drink menu by preparing a Nutty Irishman. This simple cocktail speaks true to Irish roots and will most definitely bring joy to your friends as a wonderful treat.

Every year, on March 17th, you and your friends get together to celebrate on St Patrick's Day. Perhaps the only trait of Irish any of your friends have inherited is the likeness for the color green. It doesn't matter if your name is Murphy McIntyre or Tom Jones, we all share the luck of the Irish on this fun holiday! Most people relate St Patty's Day as a great reason to throw an amazing party and go crazy in the way only the Irish can.

The holiday's roots actually gained way to mark the history of Ireland's most influential Christian, Saint Patrick. The significance of one man's influence on Chrisianity is still felt in the world today. People now display their love of the Irish and its cultural history at themed parties that commonly feature delicious Irish food and drinks, games, and music.

The Nutty Irishman, also known as Nutty Tea, is a drink that anyone can make. The ingredients are minimal. The time required to learn how to make the cocktail is less than 10 minutes, but it has taste that is far from plain.

You will need:

Bailey's Irish Cream coffee drink

Frangelico Hazelnut Liqueur

Rocks glass

Ice

Start by filling the glass with ice. This recipe assumes you are using a small glass known by bartenders as the Rocks Glass.

Next, pour 1.5 oz of the Bailey's Irish Cream into the glass. If your bottle is equipped with a nozzle you should be able to do a three-count pour and then stop. Without the nozzle is three-count pour is not possible, so use the 1.5 oz measurement.

To make this Irishman really nutty, you top it off with a splash, .5 oz half an ounce, of Frangelico. This Hazelnut Liqueur really compliments the coffee flavor.

Ideally you mix the drink by using what bartenders call a mixing tin. The drink is poured, in a rolling fashion, from the rocks glass into the mixing tin, and then back into the glass.

Give the green beer a break and put a twist on next year's St. Patrick's Day celebration by learning a fun drink that not only tastes great but goes with the Irish theme.
