Just 90 miles south of Boston at the tip of Cape Cod sits the enchanting community of Provincetown. A quiet, peaceful village in the winter, Provincetown comes alive with activity in the summer. Surrounded by breath-taking natural beauty, the town hosts an abundance of restaurants, entertaining street performers, interesting museums, and special festivals all season long.
Art
In the East end of town you will find countless independent art galleries offering a view of some of the finest works being created by artists today. But as you walk east, don't stop too soon; the Provincetown Art Association Museum (PAAM) is not to be missed. Housed in an award-winning building, PAAM features exhibits of artists past and present with a collection that is the envy of museums worldwide.
Theater
Provincetown has always been an incubator for spectacular theater. In the past, writers and actors such as Marlon Brando, Tennessee Williams, Eugene O'Neil, and Richard Gere have all honed their craft in this artistic haven. Today the Provincetown Theater, located at 238 Bradford Street, continues this tradition encouraging the development of new plays, actors and playwrights. If your visit includes staying overnight, an evening at this intimate theater is not to be missed. You are likely to see new works that will head to Broadway and you will be sitting among the writers that help to create them.
Restaurants

These include Jimmy's Hideaway, 179 Commercial Street, a small gem hidden from the street that opens up in the back to a view of the harbor. The food is excellent, the drinks superb, and the owners will make you feel like an old friend coming home. A second recommendation would be Fanizzi's at 539 Commercial Street. In the East end of town, this local favorite offers a wide selection on the menu including local seafood and also has a great view of the harbor. Finally, for breakfast and lunch, it is worth taking a walk out of town to Chach. Located at 73 Shank Painter Rd, the daily specials keep things interesting, the prices are reasonable, and it's a great place for conversations with friends.
The Festivals
