Exploring the possibility of life after death

LOOK FOR THE SIGNS

We have all lost a loved one who was very dear to us. . . The emptiness and forlorn sense of abandonment we feel after someone to whom we were very close passes away can be the most difficult time in our lives. This is when the doubts that have always plagued us in the back of our minds concerning the afterlife, the presence (or lack of one) of God and the destination of the soul after death start to creep more and more into our conscious, waking thoughts. We remember the people whom we have lost as such vibrant entities - so robust and full of life - and it seems that no matter how far we reach out into the void with our minds and our hearts, we cannot find even a trace left of those who were so alive yesterday. To our extreme disappointment, it seems as though not even a whisper of the person remains.

It is at this time when depression sets in, we begin to imagine that there may be nothing but an endless void out there after death and this thought fills us with dread. . .

All you need do to confirm this fact for yourself is look for the signs that they are trying to communicate with you. But, first, you must divest yourself of any preconceived notions you may have regarding what forms signs like these might take.

In the last century, Hollywood's concept of what this type of post-mortem communication is like has strongly colored our perceptions and, in the end, I believe it has caused many of us to miss subtle, yet unmistakable, REAL attempts on the parts of our loved ones to speak to us from beyond the portal of death.

Almost as rare is the audible sound of the voice or voices of the departed. Instead, more often than not, bits and pieces of true spirit-communication come to us simply as vivid thoughts or, occasionally, even as dreams.

Mediums train themselves to pay close attention to their mind's eye and inner voice so what we might think of as being vivid but random thoughts are, for the medium, flashes of communication that they know originate with someone - some entity - outside of themselves. It takes a great deal of concentration, focus and training, however, over a fairly long period of time to become accomplished enough to be able
