Slippage
My toes cling to the edge
To jump would leave an awful splatter
Scars left across my body, my soul
Are easy answers for those who'll ask
Why did she do it? What was the matter?
Leaving this world for one unknown
Is no decision, no arbitration
The promise of life that I had before
Was lost and now it can't be found
In its place only self-flagellation
Gravity helps, I start to slip
Control relinquished to a higher power
The last few seconds of this pain-filled life
Spent giving up, giving in
Saying goodbye to my final hour
