I watched you walk away.
Now, I look down at my hands
And I wonder how these,
These tiny palms,
Could have done so much damage.
How, like Judas, I betrayed you...
But I didn't even cross them with silver.
I never meant to hurt you, or
To see you cry. I never meant to
Lash out, scratch you, bruise you.
It all comes back in flashes:
Red- my anger, your dress, your blood.
White- my nails, your face, broken glass.
The slamming of a door.
And then, I watched you walk away,
I understand.
And I'm so sorry.
Just so you know.
