"Ready to Sing"

Is it silly to think
Is it stupid to dream
That everything will work out alright?
Are we growing too old
Are we growing too old
To let ourselves believe

That life is a gift?
They say it's a joke
And so we scream this on the streets
But I don't wanna destroy
I don't wanna destroy
All your hopes, all your dreams

So maybe I won't
Hey maybe that's why
I'm here with a tongue behind my teeth
I'm ready to sing
Till I've drowned out the screams
And you are singing along with me

Is it shallow to dance
Is it selfish to sing
While millions are dying on the streets?
Well I don't think it hurts
I don't think it hurts
To let our voices be heard

Above all the rest
Rising up to the skies
And maybe the dead will sing along
And we can hold on
Yeah, we can hold on
To all our hopes, all our dreams

Cause maybe we must
Hey maybe that's why
We're here with tongues behind our teeth
I'm ready to sing
Till I've drowned out the screams
And you are singing along with me
