So you want to know about the slap chop, right? You also would like to know if it's really worth buying and does it do what it promises? My answer may shock you but absolutely, and without reservation, yes. So now, let me take a few minutes and tell you about a product that will save you time, effort, and help to make your kitchen more efficient.

The original slap chop, or something like it, has been around for quite some time. I can personally attest to having one in my kitchen for at least the last seven years. It's only recently that the Slap Chop Butterfly has come out on the market and there has been a radical design change with the Slap Chop. Previously, the Slap Chop contained four basic parts; the base, the clear chop cylinder, the blade guard, and the blade handle combination.

With the new Slap Chop Butterfly they changed the original design so that now, instead of there being a separate cylinder, blade handle, and blade assembly, they combined all three, split it down the sides for easier cleaning and called it the Slap Chop Butterfly. Other than that, the overall design of the slap chop hasn't changed in years.

Now let's talk about performance. Myself, I like it best for chopping, dicing, or mincing onions. Take a half an onion, quarter it, drop it in the Slap Chop, slap it a half dozen times and voile, you've got onions cut perfect for your favorite recipe of liver and onions. Slap it a half dozen more times and you have onions cut perfectly for your favorite Italian recipe of Rigatoni. Finally, slap on it until your arms are tired, scrape out the onion with a knife, add it to a bowl of Velveeta Cheese, drop in some chili, red pepper and chili powder, and you've got some really great cheese dip.

You can also buy your pecans whole then Slap Chop them into a topping for ice cream, add a handful to your favorite cornbread stuffing, or make pumpkin bread and toss in a few. Slap Chop some celery for your favorite chicken soup, and my favorite recipe of chicken salad. What makes it special is that I add chopped pecans or walnuts, chopped apples, chopped grapes, mustard, relish, mayonnaise, a little Mrs. Dash and chicken. Mix everything together, stir well, sample often, spread over crackers and enjoy.

In conclusion, the Slap Chop is usable, dependable, easy to clean and a necessary item that your kitchen, or any kitchen, shouldn't be without.
