I heard your news
in the gaps between words.
In the unspoken,lay the truth.
My heart broke without a sound;
When asked what you said,
I was speechless.
I have not complained;
not a word of mine spoken.
I offer no testimony against you.
My suffering bears mute witness
and no one can say
that I told them.
I listened with care
and the silence you offered
opened chasms of hell at my feet.
If you had but said one word of defence
I would have said
He told me so.
I cannot proove it
no court will allow it and
no ink will proclaim it to the world
But in the absence of words
loud and clear
I heard it.

Poetry: Silence
by Ted Onulak
As silent as flowers in a vase
Taking quiet sips of water
Wordlessly counting their last remaining days
Silent as the sunbeams
by Memee
Millions of snow flakes gently falling to the ground
blanketing the earth with out making a sound.
Star gazing from a hilltop
Silence echos all around me:
nothing.
Reminding me of my thoughts,
and taking me further
into its welcoming depth.

Silence is Silent
Is silence found in heart that beats no more
Or is it placed in a dream without an encore
Is silence revealed
Silence
The flame dances on the wick,
Dances to some silent music.
No pounding beat or tune,
No rhythm or rhyme,
Just...silenc e.
Shadows
