Has anyone ever been paid by Associated Content?

I joined Associated Content last year in 2008, a few months after I'd joined Helium. I have been paid by them, but considering the amount of time that has gone by, it's to be expected. The money earned on around twenty-eight articles has been negligible and I've been lucky in the respect that I have one article that does well there. However, I'm from the UK and for people who aren't residents of the US, the site isn't very lucrative. This will be explained at the bottom.

With that in mind, Associated Content does pay out for certain. But it can take quite a long time to earn enough for pay out with a few articles online without promotion. On Helium, the earnings are better though I have less than a quarter of the articles on here than I have in my Associated Content portfolio. So, that's hardly unexpected. But again, the money is slow to accrue. See, for people who haven't been members for a long time or rather, certain ones who haven't acquired so many page views, they only pay $1.50 for every one thousand page views. That is not much at all. So even when your account has $1.50 in it, it's still just a paltry sum. That said, if a content producer has a clout level of ten (clout is determined by the amount of page views their content has received), they earn $2.00. It's still not much at all and is hardly an improvement, but at least the pay is higher however slight that might be. Content producers with a clout level of seven or above will also earn more than $1.50 per thousand page views, but it will still be less than $2.00. Essentially, after clout level seven, each clout level after that makes the content producer earn more and more for every thousand page views. Now, while the earnings aren't much, people do have the luxury of not having to do anything more than login once every ninety days to keep their account active and receive their revenue share. Also, payments can be turned on to go out automatically every month, so the producer doesn't need to request them.

Now, with everything above said, I have no knowledge how much Helium pays for every thousand-page views. I do know that it varies on the ads that grace each page though. For example, personal finance articles might earn more than ones in arts & humanities per view because of the chance that the ads placed there might be more lucrative.

So, for me, the benefits of Helium do far outweigh those of Associated Content. However, as mentioned above, I'm a writer from the UK. Associated Content does not offer upfront payments for writers outside the US. The amount offered to content producers in the US varies but it is at least a few dollars per submission that's accepted. So, for people in the US, it might be more lucrative. I just couldn't say for certain with not being eligible for those payments. However, writers in the US should know they don't have the marketplace or publishers coming to their website looking to buy articles. They do however let content producers submit videos etc. that are eligible for ad revenue, so it's not just writers that are welcome there.
