Orlando vacation on a single mom's budget

Created on: May 09, 2009

Disney is someplace every child wants to go and every mother wants to take their child there. However, on a single mom's budget, it can seem like more of a dream than a reality. Let me show you how easy ot is to do Disney on a budget and save you a lot of money on those memories.

First of all, DO NOT stay in a hotel. There are lots of places online where you can find a one, two, or three bedroom condo to stay in. be sure to get one with a full kitchen so that you can bring groceries and save money on meals that you are not at one of the Disney parks. Plus it gives you a lot more room and a little privacy.

Number Two, get a package deal. Most place you book for Disney include discounted ticket prices. One of the best links I have found to get you an your way to Disney is http://www.easyorlandovacationsonline.com/index.asp That will help you get started. Also, try going in the off season.

Three: Only get what you need. If your kids are under ten, you do not really need to to Universal Studios. They don't have as much for younger kids and many of the adventures/rides you have to pay for on top of your ticket price. Do Disney, Epcot, and Sea World. Or maybe a waterpark. You will save a lot of money getting just what you need. And do not get a park hopper pass. Number one, do you really think you are going to be hopping from one park to another in one day? And two, why pay all the money of you are not going to be getting all the enoyment you can.

Four, Stay for more days than parks you are going to. For example, if you are going to three parks, do five or six days. It will give you a few days to just veg with the kids in the pool, drive to the beach, or shop. Remember vacations are for relaxing, too. And if you are a single mom, you need it.

Special tips to save you more money...check the prices before you go. You can find out online what each restaurant charges for what meal. Many restaurants will have the same fare for lower prices. Plan accordingly. Also, Disney parks WILL LET YOU BRING FOOD IN. You can bring food and drinks into the park. You can also bring a soft sided cooler. Take advantage of the multiple fruit stands in the parks. They are about $1 for a serving of fruit and will keep the kids and you hydrated.

Have fun and remember that Disney is the place that, no matter how old you are, you still feel like a kid. Don't be afraid to do Disney. All I ask is that you bring me back some Mickey ears!
