The compromises of women's rights

I don't want equal rights, I am so much better than that! I have firmly stood by this statement since young adulthood, and the older I have become, the more deeply I believe in it. Equal pay is a great thing, not being considered the property of man is fantastic, I hardily support women being able to work, make their own choices and not being limited in pursuing any type of life or lifestyle they want, I am all for it. Still, I don't want equal rights, because I'm not a man, I don't want to be treated like a man, or have to act like a man to gain respect in my chosen field. Do not wish to compromise my being female to gain equal rights by acting like a male.

Equal rights for women has come with the price of losing the perks of being female, I want a man to open the door for me, I want a man to be gallant and chivalrous, I want men to lift, haul and carry for me. I enjoy being female, I do not wish to be treated like a man, because I am not ashamed of being a woman, and I do not wish to adapt my behavior to placate society for the ability to some day be considered a man's equal.

We are not equal, we are similar, we are comparable to each other, but we are not the same. A man does not have children, will never experience menstruation, they will never go through menopause, nor will a man ever experience the monthly cyclic physical and emotional changes that women go through every month. Our brains do not function the same, similar, but not exactly, we are physically different both externally and internally, have different reactions to medications, and have different risk factors than men do. We are similar, we are not the same, we are comparable, we are not identical, and to say women have equal rights is the same as saying, you can be a man. That somehow being female is a dismissive trait that cannot be viewed with the same seriousness as being a man, that we are weaker for being female, and therefore unworthy.

Equal rights sets up the assumption that as long as a female can act male in a male society she will be granted equal rights, only by submerging all female traits can a woman ever be equal to a man and therefore be worthy of equality. No allowances can be made for a female to be female, if you want equality then simply start acting like a man. This is not equality; this is the subjugation of half of our society to modify their behavior to become acceptable to a man's world.

With all that woman have been asked to sacrifice for the dubious privilege
