The links between tarot suits and astrological elements

Tarot cards can be seen through many different eyes. No matter your thoughts or experience with Tarot, it will be most helpful to understand the meaning that is behind the cards laid out before you. In this article we will address the four suits of the Minor Arcana and their astrological elements. Each suit in the Minor Arcana of the tarot deck is similar to that of the four suits in a deck of normal playing cards. These minor cards do not depict the major artful scenes which would appear on the Major Arcana, or "face" cards, like "The Wheel" or "The Lovers" cards. The four suits in the minor arcana contain numbered cards from two to ten as well as an Ace in each respective suit. The four suits in the minor arcana are usually known by multiple names, however for the ease of understanding the following information the suits will be referred to as follows: Cups, Pentacles, Swords, and Wands.

Each suit in the minor arcana of the tarot deck has different ties to both astrological elements as well as to different areas or subjects within daily life. In our daily lives we encounter these four basic areas whether we intend to or not. When consulting a psychic for a tarot card reading, knowing the elements that are tied to the four minor suits will greatly increase your understanding of the tarot card reading. Not only will this understanding help tie the reading information together, but there will be a more solid foundation for you to lay all of this new information on.

Cups is the suit of emotions. This suit represents the many feelings that you may bring into the reading. Love, sadness, depression, psychic questions and the like will be addressed when a card is flipped in this suit. Some major topics that will fall under Cups are love, relationships, and those things that are ruled by your emotions. The suit of Cups is tied to the astrological element of water. As you begin to see the ties between suit and elemental properties, such as a cup holding water, you will begin to form more solid thought patterns that will help you understand what each card means in your reading. The suit of Cups is also tied to three astrological sun signs, these are Cancer, Pisces and Scorpio.

Pentacles is the suit of tangible things. All things that pertain to material items such as your physical health, your real finances right down to items such as your home, car, or wardrobe are addressed within this suit. Some major topics that will fall under Pentacles are health,
