Waiting For The Ships
I sit out on my deck under a warm blue sky
I sit and wait for the ships to go bye
The silence is so peaceful as the sun sets down
I can see the sails for miles across the sea
In just a few hours they will be sailing past me
The darkness is upon the cool brisk eve
Water is so calm it makes me feel free
I hum an Irish lullaby that Gran used to sing
When I was just a child sitting on her knee
