The links between tarot suits and astrological elements

Whether you're interested in finding love or starting your own business or just keeping your life on an even keel, you can get some great pointers from the Tarot. You might think that the Tarot has little to do with astrology, but in fact there are a lot of links between them, and many astrological symbols even appear in common Tarot decks. For really detailed analysis., consulting a psychic is probably the way to go, but you can get some broad outlines on your own once you know some of the correspondences. You can even use your astrological sun sign to help determine the Tarot card that is your significator, the card that stands for you at the center of a Tarot reading.

Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn are the astrological signs associated with the element of Earth, which is also the element of the Tarot suit of Pentacles, Disks or Coins. Earth is the element of solidity, and it has a connotation of physical fertility and prosperity; some of the things that many Pentacles cards in a reading can mean are children or the gaining of money or security. People associated with Pentacles are usually dark of skin, hair or both, and are usually very practical. They can also be stubborn, however, and tend to be nearly impossible to move once they've made up their minds-just like members of the three Earth signs. It's tough to get an Earth sign riled, but once you manage it you'd better watch out; they'll be unstoppable in their committment to getting even. So if you're having a sudden run of bad luck lately, you might want to check your horoscope or Tarot reading for signs of the Earth personality you've ticked off! On the upside, Earth people are very nurturing and reliable, and once you've got the loyalty of an Earth person you've got it for life. They will be very interested in physical comfort, and quite good at obtaining it.

The sign of Swords is usually associated with Air (though some people will tell you it should be Fire instead), which is the element of the mind, of abstractions and communication. It should be no surprise, then, that the astrological signs associated with Swords are Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. Gemini are the gregarious members of the Zodiac, the Water-Bearers are well known for having their heads in the clouds, and Librans are very good at seeing all sides of any situation; all of these are Air-associated qualities-for that matter, the ruling planet of Gemini is Mercury, which is the planet of communication. Swords are sometimes
