Athletes, football players, are not paid too much. Each time a football player steps onto the field he places his body in "harm's way". He faces the danger of physical damage. Some former football players continue to experience pain and suffering because of injuries they incurred while playing professional football. People cringe when they learn a football player has been injured. They don't proclaim "he was paid too much". Was the young player who was injured and almost permanently paralyzed paid too much as a football player? He no longer plays football and is now in physical therapy .
Actors and actresses are often paid "huge sums" for their performance. Are they paid too much? These individuals rarely experience the danger of bodily harm. Movies utilize stunt men or women who perform difficult acts which producers believe the "star is unable to perform". The football player is an actor who performs his own stunts rather than ask that those stunts be performed by others. They should be paid for their performances. Some who loudly proclaim that football players are paid too much have never stepped unto a football field. Football is a dangerous game and a brutal sport.
Footballplayers are no more than "studs" who are paid to engage in physical activity. Football teams negotiate a player's salary similar to that of the "slave trader" during SLAVERY. The football player's agent is the "slave trader". Studs, i.e. potential football players, are carefully examined. Their skills and endurance are tested. A "stud" should be able to perform. During their football career football players are passed among teams. The team that pays the largest amount of money for a particular stud receives the services of that "stud". The stud goes where he is told to go. He plays when he is told to play. Others continually evaluate his playing skills. He continues to play until the owners, etc. determine he no longer has the needed skills. Another stud steps onto the field take his place and the game continues. If we fail to complain when actors and actresses are paid huge sums, we should not complain when football players are paid huge sums. Football players earn every cent they are paid. If I were offered "millions" to become a professional football player, I would not step onto a football field and attempt to play major league football. A "bad" play might require others to carry me from the field because I am unable to walk.
