Children are life's most precious gift. When a child's birthday rolls around every parent want to give their child something special and unique. Why not start by making the birthday care special and unique. Writing your child a special hand written note in their birthday cards can be very rewarding for you and your child.

It is important to remind children of how blessed we are to have them in our lives what better time to remind them of this than their birthday. Writing a note to your child in their birthday cards will only take a few minutes out of your day but the words that you write can be carried with your child for the rest of their lives.

A special note in a birthday card will not take a long time to right. The first step in writing a note to your child is deciding on the content. Think about what makes your child special, what do they do that makes you laugh, what major achievements have they made this year, what are they working on, and what you love about them. After you have thought about all those things writing the actual note will only take a few minutes.

The note does not need to be paragraphs. Most children do not want to read large amounts of writing on their birthday cards. Keep it short and simple but encouraging. Do not write anything negative in a birthday card. The words you write will be there forever. Write something you are proud of.

Let you heart do the talking. The best notes in birthday cards are ones that parents write from the heart; they have the most meaning and truthfulness.

Make the note fun. Add stickers, glitter and colored pens. Adding extras to the card will just make it that much more special.

Don't make the card totally serious. It is okay to make a joke in your note to your child. Your note does not need to be written like a note to an adult would be. A child will appreciate a little joking and fun in their card.

Do not look at the card as work. Writing a note to your child should be very enjoyable and rewarding. If you are looking at the note to your child as just a task that needs to just get done you will not enjoy yourself. The more relaxed you are about the easier it will be to write. If writing the note in your child's birthday card is enjoyable it is likely to be something you will repeat.
