Rollback in life!
Ever wished you had a Rollback in life? What is a 'Rollback'? Good question. It is one of the technical database command used in Software Development to revert back. But in life, it simply means to reverse the decision made in past. Is this possible? How everybody would wish if this was just possible. Too good to resist!
Why this feeling of "too good to resist"? This just indicates how everybody at one point in life or other, made a decision that now wished they could have either changed or never had made that decision, that they had rolled back their decision. This "rollback" has not escaped a child's brains too. At a store, after buying a toy, bringing it home and having played to heart content with it, a child thinks and sometimes says it aloud too, that he or she should have selected the other toy. How the child would have now wished to have gone back in time and rolled back the decision! When the student sees the grade score and talks to himself or herself saying 'I should have concentrated more on my studies. If only I was given a second chance! If only I could rollback what I did then!'. An ex-employee, a current job seeker wakes up everyday hoping for prospective employment, being taunted by himself to have made better choices professionally in the past, would consider blessed if a rollback button was laid before him or her. "What a relief!" he or she would think. On the day of retirement, one would think "If only I could rollback time and had saved a little more", a patient in the hospital bed would think "If only I could rollback time and had been more careful on road", a family member having recently lost a loved one would think "If only I could rollback time and had spent more quality time", the list of regrets of inability to set the past right is infinite. We believe that if the decision was made differently then, things could have been different from what it is now, which could be true also. This unsatisfied feeling is because we are confused and unsure if what we have now is what we really wanted. Or\And it could also be our never ending cravings. We always feel the other side of pasture is greener.
However, we also find people who are happy with the decisions they made and are satisfied. While decision making they were sure of what they wanted, and since they are in a content situation now and that's what they expected to be while making the decision, they are satisfied and happy. I would also call them to be "lucky". Well
