Why it is important to remember the 9/11 terrorism attacks

In a cemetery in New York City, a women of forty years stands graveside with her thirteen year old son. She explains to him why he should never forget. Daddy was taken from us by some very bad people. He was at work trying to make a living to support our family when two plans hit the World Trade Center, where he worked.

The two tall buildings, each one hundred and ten stories high caught fire and eventually crumbled to the ground. Over three thousand Americans died along with your father, he was a very good man. We as a country can never let this happen again. Think of all the mommies and daddies that died that day.

I want you to grow up and never forget how we lost your father; this is something that should never happen again. Be strong my son and never let anyone tell you, we don't need to protect America. This is why I bring you here every 9/11. I have missed daddy for most of my life, I promise not to forget mom.

Of course I manufactured this story but I believe in my heart this has happened many times. America has fought in two world wars and has never been struck like this on our mainland. The pendulum has swung to the left politically, but America must be allowed to protect its citizens. Therein lies the worry.

We are cutting the defense budget and not allowing the CIA to do its job effectively; that would do harm to The United States of America that may not represent a country, like on 9/11. This makes the threat even greater. If these terrorist are not "put down", there is no telling what they will be able to do to us.

Can you remember how you felt on that day that will live in infamy? Think of the people that were jumping out of their windows to their deaths, the people that were trapped in their office and the ash you could see on everyone. Almost every American wanted revenge for this heinous act, why have so many forgotten how they felt? Many of us now embrace the poor individuals that carried out this plot to kill Americans. This is NOT the America I grew up in!

History repeats itself, if it is allowed to. Last week a 747 flew over New York City, the reason given was a photo-op. Let's forget the $360,000 it cost to do this, let's remember the people running through the streets because they were re-living 9/11. Can anyone say traumatized?

Pretty soon we will no longer be able to produce the weapons needed to protect our country. We MUST remember 9/11 or it will happen again; that is why it is important.
