The world has changed a great deal, what is sad is that I can make this observation even at a young age. There was a time when the world and the people in it were a "community, not just people living in the same place. We were people who looked out for one another.

When someone saw a child doing something wrong , That person would decide the best action to take or to report it to the child's parents. Today people turn Their heads and merely talk about how the child needs proper raising.

We live our lives thinking that people should care more about us and what goes on in our lives when we only care about our own lives.

People see their neighbor working on his or her car or house and don't offer to help, then wonder why no one will help them. We sit back and watch while people do hard work without offering a hand, Then when it is our turn to do the work we wonder why everyone will just watch us.

So, why change?

People not only care less about other people, but also about the world around them. Instead of a love for people and the world,there is a love for money and a want for more. Enough is never enough. We all feel this need to prove to the world that we are worth something. Yet a long time ago worth was measured by a person's heart, not by the thickness of a wallet.

I hear all the time that there is no point in trying to make a better world- That it's just a case that people are the way they are.

Well, That isn't true!

People were not always this way, so why can't it be possible for them to change? I believe that if we all try just a little bit to be more loving, to be more helpful, without expecting something in return. that we can change your town - and maybe the world.

The more each of us care about the people of this world and the look of the world, the more others will start to care. I believe the world could be a community once again. We all can work together to have a better world. We can all work together to get rid of the violence and drugs and the hate. If we do all that we will live in a beautiful , peaceful place with true happiness once again.

Why hate when you can love? Why be alone when you have a whole world of people who can help? All we have to do is care and love! Show someone you care by helping them with any job. Help watch their children and help mow their grass. That person will do the same things in return. Treat people the way you wish to be treated and they will treat you that way. Show people that you care. Say hello to people as you walk down the street, ask how they are. You will be amazed how friendly people will be if you only start.

This world can change but it has to start with the people.
