How to Become Truly Wealthy
You wake up to face the day and serve your community. The thing is, you're tired. You've been plugging away faithfully at your job, working hard for your paycheck, and even after so many years of employment, you feel like you're getting nowhere too fast.
The bills that have piled up over the years never seem to lessen or go away. As your family gets older, the expenses grow with them. Setbacks from medical emergencies, to poor financial situations in the national economy, seem to plague you. Still, you keep waking up as a servant, thankful to have a job, and grateful to share your expertise with those who might need it.
One day you hope to make it to the big table, the one with all those high paid executives that don't seem to have to work quite as hard. You've bypassed the gossip at the water cooler, keeping your head down and opting to put in your time. That's how you plan to get ahead someday, by staying focused and being valuable to the company.
Then one day you realize that working hard for money, while being admirable and proving integrity, isn't the key to your financial freedom. It is simply what you do to make ends meet, complete with ups and downs in an uncertain world. You begin to look around at everything you have, and you smile. Paycheck be darned, you are one of the richest people you know!
So why do you work so hard for a paycheck that doesn't always cover what you need? How is it that you can spend so many hours determined to make a difference, climb that fictitious ladder of success, and still end up with only a few meager pennies to show for all your efforts? When all is said and done, you're not even making minimum wage, by the time you've added in the extra time you give.
It's not about the money. It never was. You work hard for the money because there are people who depend on you, and need what you have to offer in life. You model respectability, honor, and trust. You reflect morality, integrity, and strength. Money isn't the true source of your wealth, character is, and you have a responsibility to make it count.
You come home at the end of the day, greeted with several open arms. Each person has a story to tell in turn, including you. As you gather around the table, sharing the family meal, you know without a doubt why you work hard for money. When the evening finally ends, you let it all go, prepare to face tomorrow, and get ready to work for the treasures no money can buy.
