I walk in streets that once
were paved with Viking gold
and wander mountains
dropped from the Cailleach's apron
I am undone by you, my country.
Born in the tradition of Pearse
my heart beats with every wave
every swell and ebb of the mighty
Atlantic - crashing against the western coast
I am stunned by you, my country.
I write paeans to your heights
and my soul finds rest and hope
in the gentle swell of your valleys
and I walk in the shadow of giants and heroes
I am made by you, my country
Anna Livia is my mother
my love for her is unbounded
I am a child of her undulations
and the march of my nation is hers
O my love, my home, my country.
