When I found out that I was pregnant with my daughter it was after a long eighteen months of trying after losing first pregnancy. The day that stick had those two little pink lines on it was the best day of my life. However I did not know then what I know now, I did not know that you had to loose that weight in record time or else. so now I share a bit of my experience and feelings about it with you...

Well, I sat down to watch TV with my husband and the daily ten is on. Now I do not usually watch such things but... they were talking about stars that have recently given birth and how they took the weight off. and me being about to pop with baby number two perked my ears up and listened and preceded to be totally appalled...

For starters, no one, I mean no one, just drops baby weight because of good genetics. And second of all, hello, if the rest of us new moms had nannies to dump our kids off with we could work out for more than one hour a day, too. And if we had chefs to cook for us we could eat so healthy to and if we all had nannies we could look rested and refreshed to have our picture taken just days after giving birth to our beautiful bundles of joy. And also if we all had house keepers to do all the cleaning and laundry and dishes and make sure the poop diapers were taken out, we would all be rested and refreshed.

So to make my point, if we all had someone to do the million other things that need to be done besides working out and staring at our wonderful children all day long, we would all be skinny just months after having a baby. I mean get real do these people really think they live in the real world. I mean if I have to hear one more celebrity say motherhood is the best thing in the world I think I will join those babies in puking. try being a mom in a world where there are no nannies or night nurses or cleaning ladies or people to grocery shop for you.

I would like to see them try and fold laundry feed the baby and keep a toddler entertained with no help oh all while in those beautiful 700 dollar shoes they love so much. To all those moms out there living in the real world who got up today and actually got dressed and brushed your teeth congrats to you! Here we are normal mothers who just baked a person inside of us for nine full months, and all we want to be able to do is go to the grocery store to get food with out being harassed by the magazine section. It is like I could hear them talking to me... "oh you haven't lost that weight yet? Oh it only took me a month, is there something wrong with you?"

Now, I know that it sounds a little crazy, but let's face it, after childbirth you are a little crazy! I felt a lot of pressure not just because I imagined that I was the only one that had not lost the baby weight in record time, but I was the fat sister. I had the twig Barbie for a sister and when she got pregnant guess what... yep she only gained 25 pounds and lost it within two weeks. She was like one of those celebrity moms who wear Dolce and Gabanna coming out of the hospital.

What did I wear? One very large pair of granny panties and very large sweats. I still to this day feel inferior because my body is not the same, and I am heavier than before I had children. It also does not help when your OB tells you at twenty five, "I think you should have a tummy tuck!" One thing I have realized I may have loved being the skinny athletic girl, I may not like my body and the stretch marks all the time. I know I may never be the same again and no matter what the media or other people say, my children are worth every extra pound I carry on this formerly skinny body.
