Traveling Time

Some people would look at the thirty- to forty-five-minute drive I make to and from work as a drawback of my job. I look at it as a special time that I get to spend with the Lord.

Just this past week He has revealed His love to me in such special ways. One morning I was telling Him how much I love Him and I heard this small voice in my spirit, "I love you too, daughter!". What a great way to start my day, the King of the universe taking the time to make sure that I know that He loves me! Can you imagine any other king personally taking the time to tell each one in his kingdom that He loves individually?

Another morning I was marveling over the brilliant fall colors. I love fall and I am having a particularly hard time staying indoors this year. I was asking God why this was, after all I have gone through 60 falls now! Yet it seems that I am drawn outside this fall more than ever before. That familiar small voice said, "It's because I've made a huge special bouquet of color for you and you are feeling and seeing My love for you more than ever."

A delivery of flowers from someone we love makes us feel so special especially when they arrive for no reason. Imagine the Creator of the world sending a bouquet so huge that no matter where I look I see it! How could I possibly resist the love of One that would send me such a visible reminder of His love for me.

When I am facing what I expect to be a rough day I can discuss it with my best Friend and He will listen and give me wisdom with how to deal with the situations I might face. When it has been a trying day I can talk about it with Him and not take all my frustrations out on my husband when I get home. Just imagine how much my husband appreciates that I have the time to talk with the Lord before I get home!

I can take my worries and concerns about my family and friends to Him. After all, He is the only one who can change my circumstances anyway. Some days the drive is my traveling prayer closet.

Sometimes it is just an awesome time to worship Him in my own way. I can put a CD in or listen to the Christian radio station in my area and just sing my heart out to Him. I have a beautiful drive over the mountain and I see the works of His hands all around me. I can reveal in His signature on His creation. I see the seasons in nature that He has given us to enjoy. What a special time it is for me to have with the Lord.

I truly believe that when I accepted this job that I have that the Lord knew I would need this time of day with Him. There are branches of this company closer to my home but I think God worked out this special time for us! He is always so good to me and reveals His love in new ways every day if I just take the time to look.

Lord, help me to always take the time to look for You. I thank You for all the ways that you reveal yourself to me. You are too good to me! I thank You for Your grace and unending love for me. Help me to pass that love onto others around me. Thank you for Jesus and the precious gift He has given me access to You. Amen
