Obesity: IN TODAYS WORLD. Today obesity is becoming more and more common and is more problematic than ever before. Obesity is not just an eating problem it's a disease and can come from many different sources. Today's foods are fattier and more unhealthy than ever. Obesity is a problem that can be fixed and prevented with the know how and the will. Fast food is a big contributor especially in the U.S. as there is a fast food restaurant on every block and every corner. Today's marketing for fast food is outrageous, commercials are on every TV station and radio station. Kids are a special target for these markets, so they always try to appeal to kids with toys and prizes with their food. Today's food and how we prepare them is a major problem and is probably what is most to blame for obesity. Our food is loaded with hormones, artificial sweeteners, and preservatives. If we prepared our foods in a more healthy way we wouldn't have to worry as much, but there is always temptation. It is okay to spoil yourself once in a while, but this country has got to start eating better, or obesity will just keep getting worse. Now obesity doesn't always have to deal with food, some cases of obesity are brought on by health problems and those cases are harder to break. When it comes down to it we all just need to eat right and exercise more, as well as watch our portions. Exercise may be hard for a lot of people and that is understandable, but you should give it a shot and try to find something you like. In todays world less people are exercising, there always at work, or finding something else to do. Most kids today would rather sit in front of the TV, or play video games instead of playing outside or riding their bikes. A lot of that is to blame on the parents and the rest is to blame on the marketing of those products to appeal to kids in many ways. I know a lot of people don't like exercise, but taking a 15 minute walk every day would be a great start, you never know you may find it relaxing. This is why obesity is so widespread in todays times, people have grown accustomed to so many luxury's. People would rather order in than have a home cooked meal, or would rather drive than walk down the street, and rather take the elevator than the stairs. Simple things like walking the stairs and gardening, and even going for a stroll down the street would help prevent this deadly disease we know as obesity. Remember try to exercise for at least 30 minutes a day, 4 or 5 days a week
