If you have a dog there are plenty of beautiful places to go enjoy a walk in Dallas, Texas. Here is a list of several places that you and your pup should check out:
Areas to walk with your dog:
1. Dallas Nature Center
The Dallas Nature Center is a beautiful 600-acre park that boasts ten miles of hiking trails that you can take your dog on-leash. It is located at 7171 Mountain Creek Parkway, south of Interstate 20.
2. Bachman Lake Park
On Bachman Drive, the Bachman Lake Park offers a nice walking area around the lake that is a total of three miles. With the great views, it is a fantastic place to walk your dog on-leash.
3. Take a city walk
If you want to go on a city walk with your dog, there are many parts of the city that are lovely. The best part is that there are several restaurants that allow you to have your dog sit beside you (on-leash of course) in the outdoor seating sections. This includes the restaurant Big Shucks Oyster Bar, located at 6232 East Mockingbird Lane, which has fantastic seafood and a large outdoor patio for you and your dog to eat at. Baja Fresh, at 3826 Lemmon Avenue, is another great option with outdoor tables and tasty Mexican food. The Breadwinner Caf at 5560 West Lovers Lane, and Caf Toulouse at 3314 Knox Street, are also great caf restaurants with outdoor seating for your dogs.
Off-leash dog parks:
1. White Rock Lake Dog Park
Located at 8000 Mockingbird Lane, White Rock Lake Dog Park is a spacious off-leash dog park with beautiful views of the lake. There are separate areas for small dogs and large dogs, and also an area where dogs can go swimming in the lake. The park is usually quite crowded and your dogs may go home quite muddy.
2. Mockingbird Point Leash Free Run
On East Mockingbird Lane there is another off-leash area for dogs at White Rock Lake. Enjoy views of the lake as your dogs run around burning of energy.
3. Bark Park Central
Bark Park Central is one of the newer dog parks in Dallas, where there is a fenced in area for your dogs to run free. To get to Bark Park Central, take US 75 to the southwestern corner of Good-Latimer Expressway and Commerce Street.
4. Deep Ellum Dog Park
In Deep Ellum near US 75, there is another dog park with benches and water available for the pups. Your dogs will have a blast.
Just follow this guide and I'm sure that you and your dog will have a great time exploring Dallas! Happy walking with your pup!
