Poetry: About friendship

Why try

Why do I try
Why do I bother
I reach out my hand
And call you my other
Only for you to ignore me
And turn away
You hurt me
You break me
Because you know how
You know my weak spots
What hurts me deep down
You run while I stay
Try to talk and make the problem go away
But that is you and how you have always been
I can not change this because I know not where to begin
I accepted you for you
But do you accept me for me
You make me cry and go through so much agony
Almost every single day
A love so strong for you I contain
Deep in my mind
Deep in my soul
That is why I never give up
I will always try
I am here to stay
And one day, maybe one day
I will turn my back
Thinking of giving up
Forgetting it all
And you will be standing right behind me.
