Poetry: Expressions of love
I stammered as I spoke
Not knowing what to say
Worried he'd think it was all a joke
I am not good at expressing myself this way
So I thought I'd write him a note
Telling him how much I care
Passion embodied in every word I wrote
Yet, words alone cannot express what I want to share
Gently he placed his arm around me
And kissed me on the cheek
Then I knew our hearts would agree
On something which we would never speak
Love is not always a spoken word
It can be a hug, a feeling, or a smile
It is not always seen or heard
It's a warm feeling that stays with us awhile
