Morning Meditation
My soothing, morning shower
is more cleansing than you know.
I use the time to meditate
when I am feeling low.
I assess the morning's aches and pains.
I cheer when some are gone.
But new ones seem to come instead
I feel somewhat forlorn.
I think of family members.
I thank God that I am here.
I wish for all, good health and luck,
to know I hold them dear.
I plan my healthy breakfast.
I think of the day ahead.
My mood has changed dramatically
since I have left my bed.
The warm cascading water,
has removed all gnawing pain.
I'm relaxed and feel I'm ready
to face another day again.
I must be careful that my musings
do not go on too long.
If conservation is my goal
I'm handling it all wrong!
My theory is that my shower
provides therapy I need.
It's cheaper in the long run
and relatively free.
So when you want to meditate,
in a shower, or on a bike,
Dismiss the things that bother you.
Focus on what you like!
