Music is losing its 'depth'

These days the music that we have coming out sucks. That really can't be the best that people can do. People these days want their money and thats it, everything else comes second to that, so they sell out and do commercials or they make really crappy music. The music, if you really listen to it, it really has no point to it. The lyrics make no sense, the guitarist thinks he is a god and so he doesn't have to try very hard, and the vocals, well, the voices nowadays ruins my ear drums.

The music from long ago was actually thought about and feeling was put into it. The guitarists actually made their solos full. They sounded good and they were original. The guitar, now, is just power chords and then a little solo that lasts for two seconds and all of the technical riffs are gone. This is because of the lack of feeling that the so-called "rock stars" have these days. Back in the 80's the artists had enough feeling to put into everything like being homeless, having done the things that they weren't supposed to have done, making them rebels and having the right to make songs about being rebels. The people that make music nowadays, most likely have not done anything like that.

The biggest problem now would most likely be that people are just getting lazy. They just want their money and they are willing to do what it takes to get it, but nothing more than that. The new genres of music that are coming out are garbage as well. The new genre of Emo sucks. It's whiny, little, rich kids complaining about having to live life because they have nothing else to complain about. The music is ruining what rock music has become as well.

The new genres of music are making people confuse what is what. I'm a Metal Head and I like most genres of Metal but when I was searching for new bands and just searching for Metal and found Nickelback in the genre, that was ridiculous. Nickelback is more of a Country or Rock band not Metal. The other types of music like Emo make people think things that aren't whiny are Rock and things that were Rock are becoming Metal. This is just ruining all of the genres of music.

More to the point that music is losing its depth. The new bands don't really put enough effort into the music. They don't make their music techincal or even sound good. The musicianship is lost and you probably are not going to find it either. Then you have vocalists and their lyrics. The lyrics don't make sense and if you look at them and try to find a hidden message you won't find one. When most of them sing they sound whiny and like they just really need to stop. Back when music was good the lyrics were almost like poems and they had a message to get across or they had the message right there in front of you and you understood what they meant, now thats all gone. So overall, the musicianship is gone and the lyrics are just garbage and have no story-line or meaning. The musicians are just treating music as another career and not as the art that it is. They are just in it for the money and don't care about how they are ruining everyone else's ears.
