The essence of religion is fear to the unknown, and to the quest for identity.
We are just another species that roam planet earth. We, as human animals have a unique characteristic that makes us matchless, our mind. No other breed that dwell in our planet can equal it.
Through time we have strengthened the use of our mind with very adverse results. We have attained an ego that has made us grow apart of our roots. We suppose to be working along with everything in existence, but we have decided to crown us as unique.
To anchor our oneness we created an Architect that made us to resemble Him. To support the existence of this being we needed faith, and to sustain this faith we form a way of living that we called "religion."
Our ego created dualism in life by making us grow emotions that we called "feelings." These expressions of the mood of our ego had brought chaos into our lives. We are no longer part of anything, we have become individuals attempting to consolidate the control of our ego over our lives and the lives of others.
Our ego created the best weapon to be used to get dominance over us and others. Language. Words and phrases that sculpt our behavior by approving or condemning whatever we do or think. It also established a system of governing that by going hand to hand with religion, got to oppress the bulk of humankind.
Good and evil, right or wrong, moral or immoral, justice or injustice, love or hate, beautiful or ugly, rich or poor, and we can continue for ever numbering all the words that exercise control over our lives. All these concepts are used to control us.
We are part of everything and all is part of us. We came into existence to implement the whole. We are particles of energy, the same force that is in everything that exists. Energy does not die, it only changes state. We live in a tridimensional world, when what we call death happens to us, we or anything that is in this dimension, just go to another dimension to continue existence.
It is a fact that we are controlled by our ego, the foundations of our society, culture, history, beliefs, and all that constitute our universe are build around our egos. There is a saying of a Chinese philosopher, "one thousand monks, one thousand religions."
We think we are in control, but Mother Nature is impersonal, no feelings, no egos, no nothing.
The essence of religion is the same as the one that our ego has, control of all.
