We humans are such strange creatures. We require order and routine, resist changes, and value the strangest of things. We want to be like everyone else, normal, yet unique. The fictional Vulcan concept of IDIC or Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations is a profound wholeness out of parts. Every 'thing' we perceive as whole and solid is in reality a wholeness composed of parts-and at the atomic level, there is a whole lot of space around each part. There is a symmetry and delicate balancing act of 'life' on this host planet of ours, turbulent and chaotic as we know the Universe to be-deadly to to life outside of this oasis of miraculous biological wonder we so sorely abuse. Order amidst chaos, we wonder and want to believe we are special.
Removing the "I" in my contemplations, has led me to consider my place in the natural order of the Universe, doing so pointed out, to me anyway how insignificant "I" really am. Life is what it is, the "I" part of me, insists "I" am so much more. I have considered the absolute perfection nature achieves from chaos, and I am grateful to be able to do so.
As transient as everything ultimately is, the thought begs, maybe the universe needed to have recognition and appreciation of its awesome existence, and thus designed biological memory and the individual self-awareness to achieve it. I feel so close to understanding the wisdom of Buddha, and Jesus, and Mohammad, for all their differences their messages were similar, unity over divisiveness, empathy, giving, stewardship-values that though I reject the God concept, are sanely positive and instinctual to our survival as a species. Chaos points out the attractions of Order, Order can not be static, change is a part of the cycle, chaos is part of the balance. To try to suppress our natures because we can reason is not healthy, sex is procreation driven, needs and wants are driven by the need to survive, greed and fear drive us to stockpile money, food, things that we unconsciously equate with success a perception we equate with survival and leaving a part of us we desperately desire to be forever remembered. Chaos created from trying to impose order on chaos. Chase the paper to give to those who desire more paper, I have yet to hear that paper brought true happiness to anyone. Seems like those that have an abundance, are stressed out in trying to get more, some few have more paper than several generations will be likely to squander.
The natural order of things is chaotic, and perfectly ordered. I am truly wealthy beyond belief, I have achieved a state of happiness not defined by materials, or paper, or things. I am happy to exist, and do not have expectations that I could be happier with anything more. Though the world can not see it, and it can never be taken from me, I have abundant wealth. It allows me the freedom to appreciate chaos balanced oh so delicately against order; and I will never cease to be amazed.
