Poetry: Being a mother

by Jeanne Sones

Created on: May 02, 2009

To be a mother is just so sweet,

It is like candy a blessed and wonderful treat,

Lasting forever as long as we live,

All our love to our child to give.

Then one day they grow up,

They are out on their own,

To fall by theirself and sometimes be alone,

It breaks our heart so bad to see them get sad,

We can't take all the hurts away anymore,

But when they do succeed we are so so glad.

Moms will come and go as years roll on by,

Most children will grow up and shed tears in their eyes,

When mom is no more and to heaven she flies,

With wonderful memories we've had theres no reason to cry.

If you've treated mom good and helped her along,

With this journey she's had and been at her side,

Your memories you will treasure again and again,

And in your heart forever your mom's love will abide.

So treasure each moment you have with her now,

Don't wait for special times to say "I love you",

And always be available to help when you can,

And your life will be richer and your memories of mom grand.
