Crocs are fast becoming one of the most popular shoes on the market. The question is why. When looking at these shoes in the store it is hard not to laugh out loud. But the popularity makes a person wonder if the world turned upside down, until you wear one. The old adage, "don't knock it until you try it" goes along way in the popularity of these shoes. To understand this popularity it is important to take a look at the shoes features.

Holes everywhere:

The shoes are made of a soft plastic that has a sole and wholes punched throughout the body. These wholes offer more than just unappealing looks they offer breath ability. These shoes are good on both land and water. There is no longer a need to change shoes when going swimming or boating. The wholes allow for water to flow in and out of the shoe and for air to circulate which helps your feet get dry.

Colors and colors:

The neon bright colors match many of today's styles and make a great fashion statement. I have noticed that the shoes scream look at me when I see someone wearing them. Whether you wear them to match your outfit or stand out by not matching your outfit the style and popularity are the same. As these shoes grow in popularity so does the different colors, not only are they neon but there are pastel and regular colors now as well. Many people who own crocs, will tell you they have many different pairs.

Plastic:

The shoes are not made out of canvas, suede, or leather; but instead, they are made out of plastic. This plastic material cost less to manufacture than regular shoe material making the price of the croc unbeatable.

Price is one thing but the plastic material (Croslite PCCR) these shoes are made from molds to the wearer's feet and makes them feel like you are walking on a cloud. This adds to the appeal of these shoes. If they were plain plastic perhaps they would not have taken the world by storm.

Comfort:

One look at these odd shaped clog shoes and your first thought is most likely; uncomfortable. You would be completely wrong. These shoes are amazingly comfortable and a dream to walk on. Many people who own multiple pairs of crocs will tell you it is because they are so comfortable.

These shoes hit the fashion scene in 2003 as a great alternative shoe for water and land. Most boaters used them on the boat, off the boat, and everywhere else because of their comfort. This is one of the reasons this uniquely shaped shoe has taken the world by storm.

Safety and Health:

These shoes offer safety by preventing slipping in water and on boats. They are sturdy and will last a long time. The material they are made from is anti microbial so your foot health is good to go as well.

New accessories:

Now you can get them in more than just neon colors and they offer accessories that fit in the wholes called Jibbitz. These charms add flair to an already flashy shoe. These are must have accessories that many croc owners have and enjoy wearing

The croc shoes have a love/hate relationship with people. If you hate them or love them you will probably own at least one pair. The question is not why anymore but will they stay or are they a fad? Most likely with all these benefits that the crocs offer they will be around for a long, long time. It is good to see that fashion is catching up to comfort in the shoe world.
